Previous editions: The AIP submission sets out the downstream petroleum industry views on the impacts of the proposed CPRS on the trade exposed Australian refining industry and options to ameliorate those impacts. In addition the submission outlines industry views on the proposed point of acquittal arrangements for emissions associated with the use of liquid fuels, and the arrangements for the 'cent-for-cent' fuel excise offset of carbon costs associated with the use of liquid fuels by some groups in the community. This submission has been prepared to assist the community and other interested parties in developing an understanding about petrol pricing in Australia and the international and domestic factors impacting on the level of petrol prices and on their movement over time. AIP and its member companies take very seriously their roles in the product stewardship of their products. As part of this, and working with the Commonwealth Department of Environment & Heritage and Visy Industrial Packaging, we have developed a program to collect and recycle used plastic oil containers. This program has already been rolled out in Victoria, NSW, ACT, Queensland and South Australia, and will be extended progressively to other States. Used Plastic Oil Containers.
