HOW TO SUBSCRIBE TO AMOSC

Companies may subscribe to AMOSC in one of the following categories:

  • Participating Company

This category comprises the major oil producing companies and refiner/marketer companies. Annual subscriptions towards the capital and operating costs of AMOSC for these companies reflect annual movements of oil by sea.

  • Associated Company

This category comprises ship owners, operators and smaller companies engaged in oil exploration, production and/or distribution. Associated Companies have access to the industry mutual aid arrangements, but in contrast to the Participating companies are generally not able to undertake to lend any of their own resources.

Associated Companies have access to AMOSC training workshops at Participating Company rates. Access to AMOSC and other company resources for oil spill response is available at 1.5 times Participating Company rates.

AMOSC Associated Companies pay a fixed annual subscription, currently set at $29,000 (plus GST), which includes corporate membership of AIP.

All subscriber companies are able to access quantities of AMOSC equipment for short-term on-site standby requirements.

Other Company Access

For non-subscriber companies, training is accessible at 1.2 times Participating Company rates. Should a company that handles oil as cargo elect not to subscribe to AMOSC but subsequently request the use of AMOSC or other company resources, these are at 2.0 times Participating Company rates. An access charge of $55,000 (including GST) also applies at the time of call-out. This charge is additional to the resource hiring charges.

Becoming a Subscriber Company

To progress to becoming an Associated Company the following is the path:

  • execute the Master Service Contract, thus speeding up the formalities during a callout, by:
    • printing 2 copies of the Master Service Contract;
    • entering the company name on the first, second and last pages of both copies and signing on the last page;
    • returning both copies to AMOSC for countersignature by an AMOSC Director. One copy will be retained and the other returned. The Service Contract itself is signed only during an incident.
  • complete and return the AIP corporate membership form to AMOSC;
  • advise AMOSC the names of those personnel who will be able to mobilise the AMOSC resources;

On confirmation of subscription AMOSC, through AIP, will forward a tax invoice and details of the bank account that subscriptions can be paid to.
